Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, fuel line removal tool, OBD-II scanner, safety glasses, gloves.
  • Safety Warnings: Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts. Relieve fuel pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and running the engine until it stalls.
2. Remove Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Unscrew any bolts securing the engine cover using a socket wrench.
  • Gently lift off the engine cover and set it aside.
3. Access the Fuel Injectors
  • Locate the fuel rail where the injectors are mounted.
  • Remove any components obstructing access to the fuel rail, such as the intake manifold or throttle body, if necessary.
4. Remove Fuel Injector
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel injector by pressing the tab and pulling it off.
  • Use the fuel line removal tool to disconnect the fuel line from the injector.
  • Unscrew the retaining bolts or clips holding the injector in place, then gently pull the injector out of the fuel rail.
5. Install New Fuel Injector
  • Apply a small amount of engine oil to the O-ring of the new injector to ensure a proper seal.
  • Insert the new injector into the fuel rail, making sure it is seated properly.
  • Reattach the retaining bolts or clips and tighten them to the manufacturer’s specified torque (usually around 7-10 Nm).
6. Reconnect Fuel Line and Electrical Connector
  • Reattach the fuel line to the injector, ensuring it is secured properly.
  • Connect the electrical connector to the new injector.
7. Reassemble Engine Components
  • If the intake manifold or throttle body was removed, reinstall it using the appropriate torque specifications for bolts.
  • Reinstall the engine cover and secure with bolts.
8. Final Checks
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Start the engine and check for any fuel leaks around the new injector.
