Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Floor jack, jack stands, wheel chocks, socket set, torque wrench.
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and secure it with wheel chocks.
  • Disconnect the battery to avoid any electrical issues.
2. Inspect and Replace CV Joints/Axles
  • Inspect CV joints:
    • Remove the wheel using a socket set.
    • Inspect the CV joint for any signs of grease leakage or damage.
    • If damaged, proceed to replace the CV axle.
  • Replace CV axle:
    • Remove the axle nut using the appropriate socket.
    • Disconnect the lower control arm if necessary to allow the axle to be removed.
    • Pull the CV axle out of the transmission and replace it with a new one.
    • Reinstall everything in reverse order, tightening the axle nut to the manufacturer’s specified torque (usually around 30-50 Nm).
3. Check and Replace Wheel Bearings
  • Inspect wheel bearings:
    • Jack up the car and remove the wheel.
    • Spin the hub and listen for grinding or roughness.
  • Replace wheel bearings if needed:
    • Remove the brake caliper and rotor.
    • Use a bearing puller to remove the old bearing.
    • Install the new bearing and reassemble the rotor and caliper.
    • Torque the caliper bolts and wheel lug nuts to specifications.
