Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, brake fluid, OBD-II scanner, vacuum gauge, safety goggles, gloves.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the parking brake is engaged.
2. Check and Refill Brake Fluid
  • Open the hood and locate the brake master cylinder.
  • Remove the cap and check the brake fluid level.
  • If low, add the correct type of brake fluid (DOT 3 or DOT 4 as per manufacturer specifications).
  • Replace the cap securely.
3. Inspect and Replace Brake Booster
  • Tools Required: Wrench set, vacuum pump.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Remove the vacuum line connected to the brake booster.
  • Unbolt the brake booster from its mounting points.
  • Carefully remove the brake booster from the vehicle.
  • Inspect the brake booster for cracks or damage; if defective, replace with a new booster.
  • Install the new booster by reversing the removal steps and reconnect the vacuum line.
4. Bleed Brake System
  • Tools Required: Brake bleeder kit or clear tubing, container.
  • Start at the furthest brake caliper from the master cylinder.
  • Attach the bleeder kit and have an assistant pump the brake pedal while you open the bleeder valve.
  • Close the valve before your assistant releases the pedal.
  • Repeat until no air bubbles are present in the fluid.
  • Repeat for all calipers in the correct order (furthermost to nearest).
