Solution

1. Preparation

• Gather tools and parts needed.
• Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
• Allow the engine to cool before starting work.

2. Oil Change (if necessary)

• Tools Required: Oil filter wrench, socket set, drain pan.
• Drain the engine oil completely from the oil pan.
• Replace the oil filter with a new one.
• Refill the engine with manufacturer-recommended oil type and quantity.

3. Inspect and Replace VVT Solenoid

• Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, screwdriver.
• Remove the engine cover to access the camshaft area.
• Disconnect the electrical connector from the VVT solenoid.
• Unbolt the VVT solenoid from its mounting bracket and remove it.
• Install the new VVT solenoid and torque bolts to manufacturer specifications.
• Reconnect the electrical connector.

4. Check and Adjust Camshaft Timing

• Tools Required: Torque wrench, timing tools (if necessary).
• Remove the timing cover to access the timing chain/belt.
• Align the timing marks on the crankshaft and camshaft according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
