Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Funnel (if adding fluid)
    • Fluid level gauge (if no dipstick is present)
    • Rags for cleaning
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Ensure the engine is off and cool before starting.
    • Use gloves to protect your hands from hot engine components.
2. Checking Fluid Level (with Dipstick)
  1. Open the hood and locate the transmission dipstick (if equipped).
  2. Remove the dipstick, and wipe it clean with a rag.
  3. Reinsert the dipstick fully and then remove it again to check the fluid level.
  4. Compare the fluid level on the dipstick to the markings (add fluid if low).
3. Checking Fluid Level (without Dipstick)
  1. Locate the fill plug on the side of the transmission.
  2. Clean the area around the fill plug to prevent contamination.
  3. Remove the fill plug using the appropriate socket or wrench.
  4. Insert a fluid level gauge into the fill hole; if fluid drips out, the level is adequate. If not, fluid needs to be added.
  5. If adding fluid, use a funnel to carefully add the appropriate transmission fluid until it reaches the correct level.
