Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather the necessary tools: funnel, clean rag, and the appropriate transmission fluid.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is warm.
2. Locate the Dipstick/Fluid Check Plug
  • For most MK7 models, the transmission dipstick is located near the back of the engine bay, often marked with a yellow handle.
  • If equipped with a sealed transmission, the check plug will be located on the side of the transmission case.
3. Check Fluid Level
  • For Dipstick:

    • Pull out the dipstick and wipe it clean with a rag.
    • Reinsert the dipstick fully and remove it again to check the fluid level.
    • The fluid level should be between the "Hot" marks on the dipstick.
  • For Check Plug:

    • Remove the check plug using a socket set.
    • If fluid drips out of the hole, the level is adequate. If no fluid comes out, it is low.
4. Add Transmission Fluid (if necessary)
  • Use a funnel to add the appropriate transmission fluid (consult the owner's manual for specifications).
  • Add fluid slowly and check the level frequently to avoid overfilling.
5. Reassemble
  • Replace the dipstick or check plug securely.
  • Be sure to clean any spilled fluid immediately to prevent slippage.
