Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the battery terminals to ensure safety.
  • Raise the vehicle using a jack and secure it with jack stands.
2. Remove Components
  • Remove the engine covers and accessories obstructing access to the timing belt.
  • Detach the serpentine belt by releasing the tensioner.
  • Remove the front motor mount (if necessary) to gain access to the timing belt area.
3. Remove the Timing Belt
  • Align the engine at TDC (Top Dead Center) on the crankshaft.
  • Remove the timing belt cover bolts and take off the cover.
  • Loosen and remove the tensioner bolt and take off the tensioner.
  • Carefully slide the timing belt off the camshaft and crankshaft pulleys.
4. Install New Timing Belt
  • Position the new timing belt onto the crankshaft pulley, ensuring it is aligned with the timing marks.
  • Route the belt around the idler pulley and then the camshaft pulley.
  • Install the new tensioner and tighten it to the manufacturer's specifications.
  • Rotate the engine manually two full revolutions and re-check the alignment of timing marks.
5. Reassemble Components
  • Reinstall the timing belt cover and securely fasten it.
  • Reattach the front motor mount and any other components removed earlier.
  • Install the serpentine belt, ensuring the correct routing.
  • Reconnect the battery terminals.
