Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and components.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Allow the engine to cool down if it has been running.
2. Remove Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Use a socket set to remove any bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Carefully lift and set aside the cover.
3. Remove Ignition Coil
  • Locate the ignition coil(s) on the engine.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil by pressing the release tab and pulling it off.
  • Remove the retaining bolt(s) securing the ignition coil using a socket wrench.
  • Pull the ignition coil straight out of the cylinder head.
4. Install New Ignition Coil
  • Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the rubber boot of the new ignition coil to facilitate installation.
  • Insert the new ignition coil into the cylinder head, ensuring it seats properly.
  • Reinstall the retaining bolt(s) and tighten to the manufacturer's specifications (usually around 7-10 Nm).
  • Reconnect the electrical connector to the ignition coil until you hear a click.
5. Reinstall Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Position the engine cover back onto the engine and secure it with the previously removed bolts.
6. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal and ensure it is tight.
