Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, multimeter, OBD-II scanner, ratchet extensions.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shock.
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and securely supported with jack stands.
2. Remove the Engine Cover
  • Remove any screws or clips securing the engine cover and lift it off. Set it aside.
3. Access the Alternator
  • Remove the drive belt by loosening the tensioner pulley using a socket and ratchet.
  • Carefully slide the belt off the alternator pulley.
4. Disconnect the Alternator
  • Unplug the electrical connector from the back of the alternator.
  • Remove the nut securing the power wire (usually 13mm) and set it aside.
5. Remove the Alternator
  • Unscrew the bolts holding the alternator in place (typically 2-3 bolts).
  • Gently pull the alternator out from its mounting bracket.
6. Install the New Alternator
  • Position the new alternator in the mounting bracket.
  • Secure it with the bolts previously removed; torque them to the manufacturer's specifications (usually around 30 Nm).
  • Reconnect the power wire and electrical connector.
7. Reinstall the Drive Belt
  • Place the belt back onto the alternator pulley and adjust the tension using the tensioner pulley.
  • Double-check that the belt is properly seated on all pulleys.
8. Reattach Engine Cover
  • Place the engine cover back and secure it with screws or clips.
9. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
