Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Jack, jack stands, socket set, torque wrench, strut spring compressor, impact wrench (optional).
  • Lift the vehicle using a jack and secure it with jack stands.
  • Remove the wheel to access the strut assembly.
2. Remove the Strut Assembly
  1. Disconnect the Stabilizer Bar Link:

    • Use a wrench to hold the stabilizer bar link and remove the nut with a socket.
  2. Remove the Lower Strut Bolts:

    • Remove the bolts securing the strut to the lower control arm using a socket.
    • Use an impact wrench if necessary to loosen stubborn bolts.
  3. Remove the Upper Strut Mount:

    • Open the hood and locate the upper strut mount.
    • Remove the nuts securing the strut mount to the chassis using a socket and ratchet.
  4. Extract the Strut Assembly:

    • Carefully pull the strut assembly out from the wheel well and lower control arm.
3. Install New Struts
  1. Prepare New Strut:

    • If the new struts require installation of the spring, use a strut spring compressor to safely compress the spring and remove the old strut from the spring.
  2. Reassemble:

    • Install the new strut into the spring (if applicable) and secure with the strut mount nuts. Ensure the spring is seated properly.
    • Reinsert the strut assembly into the vehicle, aligning it with the upper mount and lower control arm.
  3. Secure Strut Assembly:

    • Tighten the upper strut mount nuts to the manufacturer’s specified torque.
    • Reattach the lower strut bolts and tighten them to the specified torque.
  4. Reconnect Stabilizer Bar Link:

    • Reattach the stabilizer bar link and secure with the nut.
4. Reassemble the Vehicle
  • Reinstall the wheel and lower the vehicle from the jack stands.
  • Torque the lug nuts to the specified value.
