Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, screwdriver set, throttle body cleaner, lint-free cloths, safety glasses, gloves.
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Allow the engine to cool down completely.
2. Remove the Air Intake Hose
  • Tools Required: Flathead screwdriver or socket set.
  • Loosen the clamps securing the air intake hose to the throttle body.
  • Carefully detach the hose from the throttle body and set it aside.
3. Remove the Throttle Body
  • Tools Required: Socket set.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the throttle body.
  • Remove any bolts securing the throttle body to the intake manifold. Note the torque values for reinstallation.
  • Gently pull the throttle body away from the intake manifold. Be cautious of any gasket that may need replacement.
4. Clean the Throttle Body
  • Spray throttle body cleaner onto a lint-free cloth.
  • Wipe the inside of the throttle body, focusing on the throttle plate and the walls, removing any carbon buildup.
  • Open the throttle plate manually (if necessary) to clean the interior surfaces thoroughly.
  • Ensure no cleaner residue remains inside the throttle body.
5. Reinstall the Throttle Body
  • Place a new gasket (if applicable) onto the intake manifold.
  • Align the throttle body and secure it with the bolts, tightening to the manufacturer’s specified torque values.
  • Reconnect the electrical connector to the throttle body.
6. Reattach the Air Intake Hose
  • Reconnect the air intake hose to the throttle body and secure it with the clamps.
7. Final Checks
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes, checking for leaks and ensuring smooth operation.
