Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: OBD-II scanner, flathead screwdriver (for battery replacement), and a replacement battery (CR2032).
  • Ensure all doors are closed and the vehicle is in a safe location.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery (if necessary)
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Use a flathead screwdriver to carefully pry open the key fob casing.
    2. Remove the old battery and replace it with a new CR2032 battery, ensuring the correct polarity (+ and -).
    3. Snap the key fob casing back together securely.
3. Reprogram the Key Fob
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Sit in the driver's seat and close all doors.
    2. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position without starting the engine.
    3. Press and hold the "Unlock" button on the key fob for approximately 5 seconds.
    4. While holding the "Unlock" button, press the "Lock" button three times. Release both buttons after the third press.
    5. Turn the ignition key back to the "OFF" position. The key fob should now be programmed.
4. Test the Key Fob
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Exit the vehicle and close the door.
    2. Test the key fob by pressing the "Lock" and "Unlock" buttons to verify functionality.
    3. If the fob does not work, repeat the reprogramming steps.
