Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Flathead screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, new CR2032 battery (common for VW key fobs).
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe location with no obstacles.
  • Disconnect any additional electronic devices that may interfere with the key fob programming process.
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Use the flathead screwdriver to gently pry apart the key fob casing at the designated seam.
  • Carefully separate the two halves of the fob to avoid damaging the internal components.
3. Replace the Battery
  • Locate the old battery inside the key fob.
  • Remove the old battery and properly dispose of it.
  • Insert the new CR2032 battery, ensuring the positive (+) side is facing up as indicated inside the fob.
4. Reassemble the Key Fob
  • Align the two halves of the key fob and press them together until they snap back into place securely.
  • Ensure that there are no gaps and the fob is tightly closed.
5. Program the Key Fob (if necessary)
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn to the "On" position without starting the engine.
  • Press the lock button on the key fob for a few seconds.
  • Turn the ignition off and remove the key.
  • Test the key fob to ensure it operates correctly.
