Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Clean the Throttle Body
  • Tools Required: Throttle body cleaner, clean cloths, and a screwdriver.
  • Remove the air intake hose from the throttle body.
  • Spray throttle body cleaner into the throttle body while manually opening the throttle plate. Wipe clean with a cloth.
  • Reassemble the air intake hose securely.
3. Replace Fuel Filter (if applicable)
  • Tools Required: Fuel line removal tool, socket set, and safety glasses.
  • Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and starting the engine until it stalls.
  • Disconnect the battery.
  • Disconnect fuel lines from the fuel filter using the fuel line removal tool.
  • Replace the old fuel filter with a new one and reconnect the fuel lines.
  • Reinstall the fuel pump fuse and reconnect the battery.
4. Inspect and Replace Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (if faulty)
  • Tools Required: Socket set and multimeter.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the accelerator pedal position sensor.
  • Use a multimeter to test the sensor’s resistance values according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • If out of spec, remove the sensor using a socket set and replace it with a new one. Reconnect the electrical connector.
5. Transmission Fluid Check/Replacement
  • Tools Required: Transmission fluid, funnel, and socket set.
  • Check transmission fluid level using the dipstick. If low, add fluid as required.
  • If fluid is dirty, drain and replace with the manufacturer-recommended transmission fluid.
