my Volkswagen Golf has a check engine light and code P0301, what should I do

2. Replace Spark Plug

• Remove the ignition coil for cylinder 1:
  • Use a socket wrench to remove the bolts securing the ignition coil.
  • Carefully pull the ignition coil out without damaging it.
• Remove the spark plug:
  • Use a spark plug socket to unscrew the spark plug from cylinder 1.
  • Inspect the spark plug for wear, carbon buildup, or damage.
• Install a new spark plug:
  • Apply anti-seize compound to the threads of the new spark plug.
  • Hand-tighten the spark plug into the cylinder head, then torque it to the manufacturer’s specifications (usually around 15-20 lb-ft).

3. Replace Ignition Coil
