Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the battery.
  • Safety glasses and gloves should be worn.
2. Drain the Coolant
  • Place a drain pan under the radiator.
  • Open the radiator drain valve or remove the lower radiator hose to drain coolant.
  • Dispose of the coolant properly.
3. Inspect and Replace Damaged Components

a. Inspect Hoses and Clamps

  • Check all hoses for cracks or bulges.
  • Tighten or replace any loose or damaged clamps.

b. Replace the Radiator (if leaking)

  • Remove the screws/bolts securing the radiator.
  • Disconnect the transmission cooler lines (if applicable) and remove the radiator.
  • Install the new radiator and secure with screws/bolts.

c. Replace Water Pump (if leaking)

  • Remove the serpentine belt from the water pump.
  • Unscrew and remove the water pump from the engine.
  • Clean the mounting surface, install a new gasket, and secure the new water pump.

d. Replace Thermostat (if leaking)

  • Disconnect the upper radiator hose from the thermostat housing.
  • Remove the thermostat housing and replace the thermostat.
  • Reattach the thermostat housing and upper hose.
4. Refill the Cooling System
  • Reconnect all hoses and clamps securely.
  • Fill the radiator and reservoir with the appropriate coolant mixture.
  • Start the engine and let it reach operating temperature while checking for leaks.
