Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: Small Phillips screwdriver, multimeter, and replacement battery (typically CR2032).
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe location and turned off.
2. Open Key Fob
  • Use a small Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws from the back of the key fob.
  • Gently pry open the key fob casing using a plastic trim tool to avoid damage.
3. Replace Battery
  • Remove the old battery carefully, noting the orientation (positive side facing up).
  • Insert the new battery (CR2032) in the correct orientation.
  • Ensure the battery is seated properly in its compartment.
4. Reassemble Key Fob
  • Align the two halves of the key fob casing.
  • Press the casing together until it clicks securely.
  • Reinsert and tighten the screws to hold the casing together.
5. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  • Sit in the driver's seat and close all doors.
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position (do not start the engine).
  • Press and hold the lock button on the key fob for approximately 5 seconds.
  • Turn the key to the "Off" position and remove it.
  • Test the key fob to ensure it is now functioning properly.
