Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and equipment: OBD-II scanner, socket set, battery terminal wrench.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shock.
2. Access the Transmission Control Module
  • Locate the TCM, usually found near the transmission or inside the vehicle cabin.
  • Remove any panels or covers obstructing access using a socket set.
3. Reset the Transmission Control Module
  • Disconnect the TCM connector by pressing the release tab and pulling it out carefully.
  • Wait for at least 10 minutes to allow the TCM to reset.
  • Reconnect the TCM connector securely.
4. Reconnect Battery and Test
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal and tighten it with a battery terminal wrench.
  • Start the vehicle and allow it to idle for a few minutes to let the TCM relearn its parameters.
  • Drive the vehicle to confirm that the shifting issues have been resolved.
