Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and secured with wheel chocks.
  • Wear safety gloves and goggles.
2. Identify and Repair the Leak
  • Inspect and Replace Damaged Components:
    • If a damaged brake line is found, use a line wrench to disconnect it from the fittings.
    • Cut the damaged section with a pipe cutter and replace it with a new brake line, ensuring it is properly flared.
    • If the master cylinder is leaking, remove it by disconnecting the brake lines and unbolting it from the brake booster.
    • Replace the master cylinder with a new unit and reattach the brake lines securely.
3. Bleed the Brake System
  • Bleeding Procedure:
    • Fill the brake fluid reservoir with new brake fluid (DOT 4 recommended).
    • Starting from the wheel farthest from the master cylinder, use a brake bleeder kit to remove air from the brake lines.
    • Have an assistant press the brake pedal while you open the bleeder valve, then close it before they release the pedal.
    • Repeat until no air bubbles are visible in the fluid.
    • Repeat for all wheels in the proper sequence.
