Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather the following tools:
    • Small flathead screwdriver
    • Replacement battery (typically CR2032 for most key fobs)
  • Ensure you have access to the vehicle’s manual for programming instructions.
2. Replace the Key Fob Battery
  1. Use the small flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing.
  2. Carefully remove the old battery from the fob, noting the orientation (positive and negative sides).
  3. Insert the new battery, ensuring it is oriented correctly.
  4. Snap the fob casing back together securely.
3. Reprogram the Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Sit in the driver’s seat and close all doors.
  2. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the “On” position without starting the engine.
  3. Press the unlock button on the key fob for approximately 5 seconds.
  4. Turn the key back to the “Off” position and remove it.
  5. Test the key fob to ensure it is functioning properly.
