Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Wear safety glasses and gloves.
2. Raise the Vehicle
  • Use a jack to lift the vehicle and secure it with jack stands.
  • Remove the wheels for easier access to suspension components.
3. Inspect and Replace Components
  • Shocks/Struts:

    • Remove the top mounting bolts for the struts.
    • Detach the lower bolts connecting the strut to the steering knuckle.
    • Replace with new struts or shocks, ensuring proper alignment of mounting points.
    • Torque specifications: Top bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft), lower bolts to 70 Nm (51 lb-ft).
  • Control Arms:

    • Remove the bolts securing the control arms to the subframe and the wheel knuckle.
    • Replace old bushings if necessary using a bushing press.
    • Install new control arms and torque bolts to 60 Nm (44 lb-ft).
4. Reassemble and Lower Vehicle
  • Reinstall the wheels and lower the vehicle back to the ground.
  • Tighten lug nuts to 120 Nm (89 lb-ft) in a star pattern.
5. Wheel Alignment
  • After replacing components, perform a wheel alignment to ensure proper handling and tire wear.
