Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather required tools: flathead screwdriver, small Phillips screwdriver, and a working replacement battery (typically CR2032).
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked in a safe area and the ignition is off.
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob along its seam.
  • Be cautious to avoid damaging the plastic casing.
3. Replace the Battery
  • Remove the old battery from the key fob.
  • Insert the new battery, ensuring the positive side (+) is facing upward.
  • Snap the key fob halves back together firmly until you hear a click.
4. Reprogram the Key Fob
  • Sit in the driver's seat and close all doors.
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position (do not start the engine).
  • Press the "Unlock" button on the key fob for 5 seconds.
  • While holding the "Unlock" button, press the "Lock" button three times in quick succession.
  • Release the "Unlock" button. The car’s locks should cycle to indicate successful programming.
5. Test the Key Fob
  • Exit the vehicle and close the doors.
  • Test the key fob by pressing the lock and unlock buttons to ensure they work correctly.
