Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface, and engage the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical shorts.
2. Remove Transmission Fluid
  • Place a drain pan under the transmission pan.
  • Remove the transmission pan bolts and carefully lower the pan to drain the fluid.
  • Replace the transmission filter if necessary.
3. Remove the Transmission
  • Disconnect electrical connectors and any transmission lines.
  • Support the transmission using a transmission jack.
  • Remove the transmission mount bolts and lower the transmission from the engine.
4. Remove the Torque Converter
  • Once the transmission is separated, locate the torque converter bolts.
  • Use a socket to remove the torque converter bolts securing it to the flexplate.
  • Carefully slide the torque converter off the input shaft of the transmission.
5. Install the New Torque Converter
  • Align the new torque converter with the transmission input shaft.
  • Press the converter into the transmission and ensure it is fully seated.
  • Secure the torque converter to the flexplate with the previously removed bolts.
6. Reinstall the Transmission
  • Lift the transmission back into position, aligning it with the engine.
  • Reinstall the transmission mount bolts and tighten to the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Reconnect all electrical connectors and transmission lines.
7. Refill Transmission Fluid
  • Reinstall the transmission pan with a new gasket.
  • Refill the transmission with the appropriate type and amount of transmission fluid.
8. Final Checks
