Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, OBD-II scanner, multimeter, dielectric grease.
  • Park the vehicle on a flat surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Allow the engine to cool completely before beginning work.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Remove any bolts or screws securing the engine cover using the socket set.
  • Carefully lift off the engine cover and set it aside.
3. Disconnect Ignition Coil Connectors
  • Locate the ignition coils on the engine.
  • For each coil, gently press the tab on the connector and pull it off the ignition coil.
4. Remove Ignition Coils
  • Use the socket set to remove the bolts securing each ignition coil to the engine.
  • Carefully pull each ignition coil straight out of the spark plug well. Avoid twisting to prevent damage to the coils or spark plugs.
5. Install New Ignition Coils
  • Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the rubber boot of each new ignition coil to ensure a good seal.
  • Insert each new ignition coil into the corresponding spark plug well and firmly press down until seated.
  • Secure each coil with the bolts removed earlier, tightening to the manufacturer’s specifications (typically 7 Nm).
6. Reconnect Ignition Coil Connectors
  • Reattach the electrical connectors to each ignition coil until they click into place.
7. Reinstall Engine Cover
  • Place the engine cover back onto the engine and secure it with the previously removed bolts or screws.
8. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative battery cable and ensure it is tight.
