Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Socket set (including 10mm socket)
    • Torque wrench
    • Flathead screwdriver
    • Multimeter
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Disconnect the negative battery terminal before starting work.
    • Allow the engine to cool before accessing components.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Locate the engine cover and remove any screws or clips using a socket or screwdriver.
    2. Gently lift the cover off and set it aside.
3. Access the Ignition Coils
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Identify the ignition coils, which are located on top of the engine, attached to the spark plugs.
    2. Disconnect the electrical connectors from each ignition coil by pressing the release tab and pulling the connector straight off.
4. Remove Old Ignition Coils
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Use a socket wrench to remove the screws or bolts securing each ignition coil.
    2. Carefully pull the ignition coils out from the spark plug wells.
5. Install New Ignition Coils
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Align the new ignition coil with the mounting location and push it down into the spark plug well until it seats properly.
    2. Reinstall the screws or bolts to secure the ignition coil, tightening to the manufacturer's specified torque (typically around 10 Nm).
    3. Reconnect the electrical connectors to each ignition coil, ensuring they click into place.
6. Reinstall Engine Cover
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Place the engine cover back on and secure it with the screws or clips previously removed.
