Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: flathead screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, and a new cabin air filter.
  • Ensure the vehicle is turned off and parked on a level surface.
2. Access the Cabin Air Filter
  1. Locate the access panel:
    • Open the glove compartment.
    • Remove any contents from the glove compartment.
  2. Detach the glove compartment:
    • Locate the hinges at the sides of the glove compartment and gently push in to release the stops.
    • Lower the glove compartment fully to expose the back panel.
3. Remove the Old Cabin Air Filter
  1. Locate the cabin air filter housing:
    • Find the rectangular cover at the back of the glove compartment.
  2. Open the cover:
    • Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws securing the cover.
    • Carefully pull the cover off to expose the cabin air filter.
  3. Remove the old filter:
    • Slide the old cabin air filter out of its housing, noting its orientation for the installation of the new filter.
4. Install the New Cabin Air Filter
  1. Insert the new filter:
    • Ensure the new filter is oriented correctly (airflow direction usually indicated on the filter).
    • Slide the new cabin air filter into the housing until it is fully seated.
  2. Reattach the cover:
    • Align the cover over the filter housing and secure it with the screws previously removed.
5. Reassemble the Glove Compartment
  1. Reattach the glove compartment:
    • Lift the glove compartment back into position and push the side hinges to lock them in place.
  2. Test the operation:
    • Turn on the vehicle and test the HVAC system to ensure proper airflow.
