Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface.
  • Disconnect the vehicle battery if the mirror has electronic features (e.g., auto-dimming).
2. Remove the Rearview Mirror
  • Tools Required: Torx screwdriver or flathead screwdriver (depending on the mirror type)
  • Locate the set screw on the underside of the mirror arm.
  • Use the appropriate screwdriver to loosen (do not fully remove) the set screw.
  • Gently slide the mirror off the mounting bracket attached to the windshield.
3. Inspect and Clean Mounting Area
  • Inspect the mirror mount and windshield area for dirt or old adhesive.
  • Clean the windshield area with glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth.
  • If adhesive is present, use a plastic scraper to remove any leftover residue.
4. Reattach or Replace the Mounting Bracket
  • If the mounting bracket is damaged, replace it with a new one.
  • If not, ensure the existing bracket is securely attached to the windshield.
  • Apply a small amount of adhesive (if applicable) to the back of the mounting bracket.
  • Press the bracket firmly onto the windshield and hold for the recommended time as per adhesive instructions.
5. Reinstall the Rearview Mirror
  • Slide the rearview mirror back onto the mounting bracket.
  • Tighten the set screw securely to hold the mirror in place.
  • Adjust the mirror to the desired position.
