Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts.
  • Tools Required:
    • Flathead screwdriver
    • Torx screwdriver set
    • MAF sensor cleaner (non-residue type)
    • Soft lint-free cloth
  • Safety Warning: Disconnect the battery before working on electrical systems.
2. Access the MAF Sensor
  • Locate the MAF sensor in the intake system, typically between the air filter box and the throttle body.
  • Use a Torx screwdriver to remove the screws securing the MAF sensor.
  • Carefully disconnect the wiring harness from the sensor by pressing the release tab.
3. Clean the MAF Sensor
  • Spray the MAF sensor cleaner liberally onto the sensor element and wires. Avoid touching the sensor with any tools or fingers.
  • Allow the cleaner to evaporate completely (usually a few minutes).
  • If necessary, gently wipe the area around the sensor with a lint-free cloth to remove any residual dirt.
4. Reassemble
  • Reconnect the wiring harness to the MAF sensor until you hear a click.
  • Position the MAF sensor back in its housing and secure it with the Torx screws, ensuring they are tightened to the manufacturer's specifications (if applicable).
  • Reconnect the battery.
