Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather Tools and Parts:
    • Tools Required: Socket set (including 10mm and 16mm sockets), torque wrench, feeler gauge, ratchet, extension bar, and dielectric grease.
    • Parts Required: Replacement spark plugs (ensure they are the correct type for your engine).
2. Disconnect Battery
  • Sub-step 1: Locate the negative terminal of the battery.
  • Sub-step 2: Use a socket wrench to loosen the bolt and disconnect the negative terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
3. Remove Ignition Coils
  • Sub-step 1: Identify the ignition coil(s) on top of the engine.
  • Sub-step 2: Unplug the electrical connector from each coil.
  • Sub-step 3: Remove the bolts securing each ignition coil using the appropriate socket.
  • Sub-step 4: Gently pull the ignition coils out from the spark plug wells.
4. Remove Old Spark Plugs
  • Sub-step 1: Use a spark plug socket to loosen and remove each spark plug from the cylinder head, turning counterclockwise.
  • Sub-step 2: Inspect the removed plugs for wear or damage.
5. Install New Spark Plugs
  • Sub-step 1: Check and adjust the gap on the new spark plugs using a feeler gauge to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Sub-step 2: Apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the threads of the new spark plugs (if recommended by the manufacturer).
  • Sub-step 3: Carefully thread the new spark plugs into the cylinder head by hand to avoid cross-threading.
  • Sub-step 4: Tighten the spark plugs to the manufacturer’s recommended torque specification using a torque wrench.
6. Reinstall Ignition Coils
  • Sub-step 1: Place each ignition coil back into its respective spark plug well.
  • Sub-step 2: Secure the coils with the bolts and reconnect the electrical connectors.
7. Reconnect Battery
  • Sub-step 1: Reattach the negative terminal of the battery and tighten the bolt securely.
