Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Wear safety glasses and gloves.
2. Remove Old Brake Fluid
  • Tools Required: Brake bleeder kit, wrench for bleeder screws, turkey baster or suction tool.
    1. Open the brake fluid reservoir cap and inspect the fluid.
    2. Use a turkey baster or suction tool to remove old brake fluid from the reservoir.
    3. Dispose of the old brake fluid according to local regulations.
3. Bleed the Brake System
  • Tools Required: Brake bleeder kit, wrench for bleeder screws, clear tubing.
    1. Start at the wheel farthest from the master cylinder (usually the rear passenger side).
    2. Attach clear tubing to the bleeder screw and place the other end into a container.
    3. Have an assistant pump the brake pedal several times and hold it down.
    4. Open the bleeder screw using the wrench and allow old fluid to flow out until clear fluid appears.
    5. Close the bleeder screw and instruct your assistant to release the brake pedal.
    6. Repeat the process for the remaining wheels in the following order: rear passenger, rear driver, front passenger, front driver.
4. Refill Brake Fluid Reservoir
  1. Check the brake fluid reservoir and add fresh brake fluid (DOT 4 recommended for most models) to the appropriate level.
  2. Replace the reservoir cap securely.
5. Final Check
  1. Inspect all bleeder screws for leaks after the process.
  2. Ensure the brake pedal feels firm when pressed.
