Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and materials.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Allow the engine to cool before beginning work.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Use a socket wrench to remove the bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Carefully lift off the engine cover to access the ignition coils and spark plugs.
3. Remove Ignition Coils
  • Disconnect the electrical connectors from each ignition coil.
  • Unscrew the bolts securing the ignition coils using the appropriate socket.
  • Gently pull out each ignition coil from its respective cylinder.
4. Remove Old Spark Plugs
  • Use a spark plug socket and ratchet to unscrew each spark plug from the engine.
  • Inspect the removed spark plugs for wear patterns indicating misfire or other issues.
5. Install New Spark Plugs
  • Apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the threads of the new spark plugs (if not pre-treated).
  • Torque the new spark plugs to the manufacturer's specification (typically around 22 lb-ft or consult the service manual).
  • Reinstall the ignition coils onto the new spark plugs and secure them with bolts.
6. Reconnect Engine Cover
  • Place the engine cover back onto the engine and secure it with the necessary bolts.
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
