Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: small flathead screwdriver, a new key fob battery (CR2032), and a small container for small parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe, well-lit environment.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  • Step 1: Open the key fob by using a small flathead screwdriver to gently pry apart the fob casing.
  • Step 2: Remove the old battery and note the orientation (positive side up).
  • Step 3: Insert the new battery in the same orientation.
  • Step 4: Snap the key fob casing back together until it clicks securely.
3. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  • Step 1: Sit inside the vehicle with all doors closed.
  • Step 2: Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position without starting the engine.
  • Step 3: Within 5 seconds, turn the key back to "Off" and remove it.
  • Step 4: Press and hold the "Unlock" button on the fob, then press the "Lock" button three times while still holding the "Unlock" button. Release the "Unlock" button.
  • Step 5: Test the fob to ensure it unlocks and locks the vehicle.
