Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the engine is cool to avoid burns.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Unfasten any bolts or clips securing the engine cover using a socket set.
  • Gently lift off the engine cover and set it aside.
3. Access Spark Plugs
  • Locate the ignition coils or spark plug wires on top of the engine.
  • If equipped, disconnect the electrical connectors from the ignition coils by pressing the tab and pulling them off.
4. Remove Ignition Coils
  • Use a socket wrench to remove the bolts securing the ignition coils (usually 10mm).
  • Pull the ignition coils straight out of the spark plug wells.
5. Remove Spark Plugs
  • Use a spark plug socket and ratchet to loosen and remove each spark plug from its cylinder head.
  • Inspect the removed spark plugs for wear or damage.
6. Install New Spark Plugs
  • Apply a small amount of anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the new spark plugs (if recommended).
  • Carefully thread each new spark plug into the cylinder head by hand to avoid cross-threading.
  • Tighten the spark plugs to the manufacturer's specified torque (typically around 13-15 ft-lbs).
7. Reinstall Ignition Coils
  • Place each ignition coil back into its corresponding spark plug well.
  • Secure the ignition coils with their bolts and reconnect the electrical connectors.
8. Reinstall Engine Cover
  • Position the engine cover back onto the engine.
  • Fasten any bolts or clips to secure the engine cover in place.
9. Reconnect Battery Terminal
  • Reattach the negative battery terminal and tighten it.
