Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety during repairs.
  • Allow the engine to cool before starting work.
2. Clean the Throttle Body
  • Tools Required: Throttle body cleaner, cleaning brush, rag.
  • Remove the air intake duct connected to the throttle body.
  • Spray throttle body cleaner into the throttle body while manually opening the throttle plate.
  • Use a cleaning brush to remove carbon deposits and wipe with a rag.
  • Reinstall the air intake duct securely.
3. Replace Spark Plugs
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, spark plug socket.
  • Remove the engine cover (if applicable) for access.
  • Disconnect the ignition coils from each spark plug.
  • Use a socket wrench to remove the old spark plugs.
  • Check the gap on the new spark plugs and adjust if necessary.
  • Install new spark plugs and torque to manufacturer specifications (usually around 13-15 ft-lbs).
  • Reconnect the ignition coils and reinstall the engine cover.
4. Replace Coolant Temperature Sensor (if faulty)
  • Tools Required: Ratchet and socket set, new coolant temperature sensor.
  • Locate the coolant temperature sensor on the engine block.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the sensor using a wrench.
  • Install the new coolant temperature sensor and reconnect the electrical connector.
  • Refill any lost coolant and bleed the cooling system if necessary.
