Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the vehicle's battery to prevent any electrical issues.
2. Inspect and Replace Brake Booster
  • Inspect the Brake Booster:

    • Remove the engine cover (if applicable) for better access.
    • Visually check the brake booster for cracks or damage.
    • Check the vacuum line connected to the brake booster for any leaks or disconnections.
  • Replace the Brake Booster:

    • Disconnect the vacuum line from the brake booster.
    • Remove the bolts securing the brake booster to the firewall (torque specification: 10 Nm).
    • Detach the push rod from the brake pedal assembly.
    • Install the new brake booster by reversing the removal steps.
    • Torque the mounting bolts to the specified value and reconnect the vacuum line.
3. Bleed the Brake System
  • Bleeding Procedure:
    • Fill the master cylinder reservoir with new brake fluid (DOT 3 or DOT 4 as specified by the manufacturer).
    • Start at the furthest brake caliper from the master cylinder and work towards the closest.
    • Have an assistant pump the brake pedal and hold it down while you open the bleeder valve on each caliper to release air.
    • Close the valve before your assistant releases the brake pedal.
    • Repeat until no air bubbles are seen in the fluid.
4. Reconnect Battery and Test
  • Once the brake system is reassembled and bled, reconnect the battery.
  • Start the engine and test the brake pedal feel.
