Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Flathead screwdriver or plastic trim removal tool
    • Clean cloth or vacuum (for cleaning the area)
  • Park the vehicle on a flat surface, turn off the ignition, and engage the parking brake.
2. Access the Cabin Air Filter
  • Locate the glove compartment and open it fully.
  • Remove any items from inside the glove compartment.
  • Identify the stop limit on each side of the glove compartment; gently push in on both sides to allow the glove compartment to swing down fully.
  • If necessary, detach the damper arm on the right side of the glove compartment to allow it to drop completely.
3. Remove the Old Cabin Air Filter
  • Locate the cabin air filter cover, which is usually situated behind the glove compartment.
  • Release the clips or screws securing the cover using the flathead screwdriver or trim removal tool.
  • Carefully pull the cover off to expose the cabin air filter.
  • Remove the old cabin air filter by pulling it straight out. Note the orientation of the filter for correct installation of the new one.
4. Install the New Cabin Air Filter
  • Take the new cabin air filter and ensure it is oriented correctly, matching the airflow direction indicated on the filter (usually an arrow).
  • Insert the new filter into the housing until it fits snugly.
  • Reattach the cabin air filter cover, securing it with clips or screws.
5. Reassemble the Glove Compartment
  • If the damper arm was detached, reattach it to the glove compartment.
  • Gently push the sides of the glove compartment back into place until it clicks.
  • Close the glove compartment and ensure it operates smoothly.
