Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Phillips screwdriver
    • Flathead screwdriver (optional)
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the ignition is off.
2. Access the Cabin Air Filter Compartment
  1. Open the glove compartment.
  2. Remove any items from the glove compartment.
  3. Locate the two stops on each side of the glove compartment and press them inward to allow the compartment to drop down completely.
  4. If equipped, disconnect the damper arm from the glove compartment for easier access.
3. Remove the Old Cabin Air Filter
  1. Locate the cabin air filter cover, which is usually a rectangular plastic panel behind the glove compartment.
  2. Unscrew the screws holding the filter cover in place using a Phillips screwdriver.
  3. Carefully remove the filter cover to expose the cabin air filter.
  4. Pull the old cabin air filter straight out, noting the direction of airflow indicated by arrows on the filter.
4. Install the New Cabin Air Filter
  1. Take the new cabin air filter out of its packaging.
  2. Insert the new filter in the same orientation as the old filter, ensuring the airflow direction matches the indicated arrows.
  3. Reattach the filter cover and secure it with screws.
  4. Reconnect the damper arm (if disconnected) and ensure the glove compartment is properly positioned.
5. Final Checks
  1. Close the glove compartment securely.
  2. Start the vehicle and turn on the HVAC system to ensure proper airflow.
