Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Fuel injector cleaner kit, socket set, torque wrench, clean rags, safety goggles, gloves.
  • Allow the engine to cool down completely.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Access the Fuel Injectors
  1. Remove the engine cover by unscrewing the necessary bolts with a socket set.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the fuel injectors by pressing the release tabs and pulling them off.
  3. Remove any components obstructing access to the fuel rail, such as air intake hoses or brackets.
  4. Using a torque wrench, remove the bolts securing the fuel rail to the intake manifold.
3. Remove and Clean the Fuel Injectors
  1. Carefully lift the fuel rail along with the injectors from the intake manifold.
  2. Remove the fuel injectors from the fuel rail by pulling them straight out (ensure O-rings are not damaged).
  3. Place the fuel injectors in a clean container.
  4. Attach the fuel injector cleaner kit to the injector nozzle and follow the manufacturer's instructions to allow the cleaner to flow through the injector.
  5. Use a soft brush to gently scrub any visible carbon deposits on the injector tip.
4. Reassemble the System
  1. Reinstall the cleaned injectors back into the fuel rail, ensuring O-rings are properly seated.
  2. Secure the fuel rail back onto the intake manifold using the original bolts and torque them to the manufacturer's specifications.
  3. Reconnect the electrical connectors to the injectors.
  4. Reinstall any components that were removed for access and the engine cover.
5. Final Checks
  1. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  2. Start the engine and allow it to reach operating temperature.
  3. Check for any leaks around the fuel rail and injectors.
