Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: small flathead screwdriver, new key fob battery (usually CR2032), OBD-II scanner (if needed).
  • Ensure you are in a well-lit area with ample space to work.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Open the Key Fob:

    • Use the flathead screwdriver to gently pry apart the two halves of the key fob.
    • Be careful not to damage the casing.
  2. Remove Old Battery:

    • Take note of the battery orientation (positive and negative sides).
    • Carefully remove the old battery from its slot.
  3. Install New Battery:

    • Insert the new battery in the same orientation as the old one.
    • Ensure it fits securely in the battery compartment.
  4. Reassemble the Key Fob:

    • Snap the two halves of the key fob back together until they click into place.
3. Test Key Fob Functionality
  1. Stand within proximity of the vehicle.
  2. Press the lock and unlock buttons to see if the vehicle responds.
  3. If successful, test the engine start function.
4. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position without starting the engine.
  2. Press and hold the "LOCK" button on the key fob for approximately 5 seconds.
  3. Turn the ignition to "OFF" and remove the key.
  4. Test the key fob again to confirm successful reprogramming.
