Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and secure it with wheel chocks.
  • Disconnect the battery to avoid electrical shorts.
2. Clean or Replace Air Filter
  • Remove the air filter housing cover using a socket set.
  • Take out the air filter.
  • Inspect the filter; clean it if reusable or replace it with a new one.
  • Reassemble the air filter housing.
3. Fuel System Inspection
  • Reconnect the battery and turn the ignition to the "on" position (do not start) to pressurize the fuel system.
  • Attach the fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail test port.
  • Compare the reading with manufacturer specifications. If low, check the fuel pump relay and wiring.
  • If the fuel pump is faulty, replace it by following the steps below:
    • Drain fuel from the tank.
    • Disconnect the battery again.
    • Remove the fuel tank as per manufacturer guidelines.
    • Replace the fuel pump and reassemble the tank.
4. Throttle Body Cleaning
  • Remove the throttle body by disconnecting the electrical connector and vacuum hoses.
  • Use throttle body cleaner and a soft brush to remove carbon buildup.
  • Reinstall the throttle body and reconnect all components.
5. MAF Sensor Cleaning
  • Disconnect the MAF sensor wiring harness.
  • Remove the MAF sensor from the intake manifold.
  • Clean the MAF sensor with MAF sensor cleaner; allow it to dry completely.
  • Reinstall the MAF sensor and reconnect the wiring harness.
