Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Jack, jack stands, lug wrench, socket set, brake cleaner, C-clamp, torque wrench, safety glasses, gloves.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the parking brake is engaged.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical issues during the repair.
2. Lift the Vehicle
  • Use the lug wrench to loosen the wheel lug nuts slightly while the vehicle is on the ground.
  • Jack up the vehicle and secure it with jack stands.
  • Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel to access the brake components.
3. Inspect and Replace Brake Pads
  • Inspect: Check the brake pads for thickness; they should be at least 1/4 inch thick. If they are worn down, they need to be replaced.
  • Remove Old Pads:
    • Remove the caliper bolts using a socket set.
