Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and running the engine until it stalls.
2. Remove Fuel Injector
  • Tools Required: Socket set, fuel line disconnect tool, torque wrench.
  • Remove the engine cover if applicable.
  • Disconnect the electrical connectors from the fuel injectors.
  • Use the fuel line disconnect tool to detach the fuel lines from the injectors.
  • Remove the bolts securing the fuel rail to the intake manifold and carefully lift the fuel rail with the injectors attached.
  • Remove the fuel injectors from the rail by gently twisting and pulling them out.
3. Inspect and Clean
  • Inspect the removed injectors for any clogs or debris.
  • Clean the fuel injector ports using a specialized injector cleaner or solvent.
  • If the injectors are dirty, consider using an ultrasonic cleaner or replacing them.
4. Install New Injector (if applicable)
  • Apply a small amount of engine oil to the O-rings of the new injectors to facilitate installation.
  • Insert the new injectors into the fuel rail and ensure they are seated properly.
  • Reinstall the fuel rail onto the intake manifold and torque the bolts to the specified manufacturer torque settings.
5. Reconnect Components
  • Reconnect the fuel lines securely to the injectors.
  • Reconnect the electrical connectors to the injectors.
  • Reinstall the engine cover if removed.
  • Reinsert the fuel pump fuse and reconnect the negative battery terminal.
6. Final Checks
  • Turn the ignition to the ON position (without starting the engine) to prime the fuel system. Check for leaks around the injectors.
  • Start the engine and allow it to idle. Monitor for any unusual noises or leaks.
