Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, Torx screwdriver, flathead screwdriver, door panel removal tool, multimeter.
  • Disconnect the vehicle battery to prevent any electrical shorts.
  • Gather replacement parts: window motor and/or window regulator if necessary.
2. Remove Door Panel
  • Use a flathead screwdriver to carefully pry off any plastic covers concealing screws.
  • Remove screws using a Torx screwdriver and set them aside.
  • Use a door panel removal tool to gently detach the door panel from the clips. Take care not to break the clips.
  • Lift the panel upwards to free it from the door frame, and disconnect any electrical connectors attached to the panel.
3. Inspect and Remove Window Mechanism
  • Locate the window motor and regulator assembly behind the door panel.
  • Disconnect the wiring harness from the window motor.
  • Remove the bolts securing the window regulator to the door frame using a socket set.
  • Carefully lift the window glass to a secure position or tape it in place to avoid dropping.
  • Remove the window regulator and motor assembly from the door.
4. Install New Window Mechanism
  • If replacing, attach the new window motor to the new window regulator as per manufacturer instructions.
  • Position the new assembly into the door and secure it with the bolts previously removed.
  • Reconnect the wiring harness to the new motor.
  • Carefully lower the window glass back into the regulator's clips ensuring it is seated properly.
5. Reassemble Door Panel
  • Reattach the door panel by aligning it with the clips and pressing firmly to secure.
  • Replace screws and any plastic covers that were removed earlier.
  • Reconnect any electrical connectors to the door panel.
6. Final Checks
  • Reconnect the vehicle battery.
  • Test the window operation with the switch to ensure everything is functioning correctly.
