Solution
1. Safety Preparation
  • Tools Required: None
  • Ensure the engine is completely cool before proceeding to avoid burns.
  • Wear gloves and safety glasses for protection.
2. Locate the Coolant Reservoir
  • Open the hood of the vehicle.
  • Secure the hood with the prop rod if necessary.
  • Locate the coolant reservoir; it is usually a transparent plastic tank near the radiator.
3. Check Coolant Level
  • Observe the side of the coolant reservoir for the “Low” and “Full” markings.
  • If the coolant level is below the “Low” mark, proceed to add coolant.
  • If the reservoir cap is on, carefully twist it counterclockwise to remove it, ensuring no pressure is released unexpectedly.
4. Add Coolant (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Funnel
  • Use a funnel to pour the appropriate type of coolant (usually a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water) into the reservoir until it reaches the “Full” mark.
  • Do not overfill, as expansion can occur when the engine heats up.
5. Replace Reservoir Cap
  • Ensure the cap is clean and free of debris.
  • Replace the reservoir cap securely by twisting it clockwise until it clicks into place.
