Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Allow the engine to cool if previously run.
2. Replace Air Filter
  • Tools Required: Flathead screwdriver, replacement air filter.
  • Remove the air filter housing cover using the screwdriver.
  • Take out the old air filter and inspect for dirt or damage.
  • Install the new air filter, ensuring it fits securely, and reattach the housing cover.
3. Clean Throttle Body
  • Tools Required: Throttle body cleaner, soft cloth, socket set.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Remove the intake duct connected to the throttle body.
  • Spray throttle body cleaner onto a cloth and wipe the inside of the throttle body to remove carbon buildup.
  • Reassemble the intake duct and reconnect the battery terminal.
4. Replace Spark Plugs
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, spark plug socket, anti-seize compound.
  • Remove the ignition coil(s) by unbolting and disconnecting the wiring.
  • Unscrew the old spark plugs using the spark plug socket.
  • Apply anti-seize compound to the threads of new spark plugs and install them, tightening to the manufacturer’s torque specifications.
  • Reinstall the ignition coil(s).
5. Check Fuel System
  • Tools Required: Fuel pressure gauge.
  • Connect the fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail and turn the ignition on (do not start the engine).
  • Check the fuel pressure reading against manufacturer specifications. Replace the fuel pump or filter if pressure is low.
  • After testing, disconnect the fuel pressure gauge and ensure there is no fuel leakage.
