Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: small screwdriver, replacement battery (typically CR2032), and possibly a multimeter.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked and turned off.
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Use a small screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing at the designated seam.
  • Carefully separate the two halves of the fob to avoid damaging internal components.
3. Replace the Battery
  • Remove the old battery from the key fob, noting the orientation (positive and negative sides).
  • Insert the new battery in the same orientation.
4. Reassemble the Key Fob
  • Align the two halves of the key fob and press together until they snap into place.
  • Ensure all seams are flush and no gaps are visible.
5. Reprogram the Key Fob (if necessary)
  • Sit in the vehicle and close all doors.
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position (do not start the engine), then back to "OFF" five times within 10 seconds.
  • The locks should cycle, indicating the vehicle is in programming mode.
  • Press any button on the key fob to program it, and then turn the ignition to "OFF" to exit programming mode.
6. Test the Key Fob
  • Stand outside the vehicle and press the lock/unlock button to ensure it functions correctly.
