Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off.
  • Use wheel chocks to prevent rolling.
2. Lift the Vehicle
  • Use a hydraulic jack to lift the vehicle at the designated lift points.
  • Secure the vehicle with jack stands for safety.
3. Inspect and Replace Shock Absorbers/Struts
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, strut spring compressor (if replacing struts)
  • Remove the wheel to access the suspension components.
  • Detach the bolts securing the shock absorber or strut to the lower control arm and upper mount.
  • If replacing struts, use the strut spring compressor to safely remove the spring from the old strut and install it onto the new strut.
  • Install the new or refurbished shock absorber/strut in reverse order, ensuring all bolts are torqued to manufacturer specifications.
4. Replace Sway Bar Links and Bushings (if applicable)
  • Remove the old sway bar links by unbolting them from the sway bar and suspension.
  • Install the new sway bar links and bushings, ensuring they are tightly secured.
5. Lower the Vehicle
  • Carefully remove jack stands and lower the vehicle using the hydraulic jack.
  • Replace the wheels and torque lug nuts to specifications.
