Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and engage the parking brake.
2. Raise the Vehicle
  • Tools Required: Floor jack, jack stands
  • Use a floor jack to lift the vehicle and secure it with jack stands for safety.
  • Ensure the vehicle is stable before proceeding.
3. Inspect and Replace Suspension Components
  • Shock Absorbers/Struts:

    • Remove the wheel for easier access.
    • Disconnect the top and bottom mounting bolts of the shock absorber/strut assembly.
    • Remove the old shock absorber/strut and replace it with a new one, ensuring proper alignment.
    • Torque the mounting bolts to manufacturer specifications.
  • Sway Bar Links and Bushings:

    • Locate the sway bar links and check for play.
    • Remove the bolts securing the sway bar link to the sway bar and the lower control arm.
    • Replace with new sway bar links and bushings. Tighten to specifications.
4. Reassemble Vehicle
  • Reattach the wheel and torque lug nuts to the manufacturer's specifications.
  • Lower the vehicle from the jack stands and perform a final inspection of all replaced components.
