Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Jumper cables, a working vehicle with a good battery.
  • Ensure both vehicles are turned off and parked close enough for the jumper cables to reach.
  • Turn off all electrical accessories (lights, radio, etc.) in both vehicles.
2. Connect Jumper Cables
  1. Donor Vehicle's Battery: Attach one end of the positive (red) jumper cable to the positive terminal of the donor battery.
  2. Dead Vehicle's Battery: Connect the other end of the positive (red) jumper cable to the positive terminal of the dead battery.
  3. Negative Connection: Attach one end of the negative (black) jumper cable to the negative terminal of the donor battery.
  4. Ground Connection: Connect the other end of the negative (black) jumper cable to an unpainted metal surface on the dead vehicle (like a bolt on the engine block) to avoid sparks near the battery.
3. Start the Donor Vehicle
  • Start the donor vehicle and let it run for a few minutes. This will allow the dead battery to receive a charge.
4. Start the Dead Vehicle
  • Attempt to start the dead vehicle. If it does not start immediately, wait a few more minutes and try again.
5. Disconnect Jumper Cables
  1. Once the dead vehicle starts, remove the jumper cables in the reverse order of connection:
    • Disconnect the negative cable from the metal ground.
    • Remove the negative cable from the donor battery.
    • Disconnect the positive cable from the dead battery.
    • Finally, remove the positive cable from the donor battery.
6. Allow Vehicle to Run
  • Let the revived vehicle run for at least 15-20 minutes to allow the battery to charge further.
