Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the repair.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Inspect and Replace Air Filter
  • Remove the air filter housing cover using a socket set.
  • Take out the old air filter and inspect it for dirt and damage.
  • Install a new air filter, ensuring it fits securely in place.
  • Reattach the air filter housing cover and tighten screws.
3. Clean Throttle Body
  • Remove the throttle body from the intake manifold using a socket set.
  • Spray throttle body cleaner on a clean rag and wipe the inside of the throttle body to remove carbon buildup.
  • Reinstall the throttle body, tightening bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
4. Inspect and Replace Spark Plugs
  • Remove the ignition coils using a socket set.
  • Take out the spark plugs with a spark plug socket and inspect them for wear or deposits.
  • Replace old spark plugs with new ones, ensuring to gap them according to specifications.
  • Reinstall the ignition coils, ensuring they snap into place securely.
5. Check and Replace Fuel Filter (if applicable)
  • Locate the fuel filter and relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and starting the engine until it stalls.
  • Disconnect the fuel lines from the filter using a fuel line disconnect tool.
  • Replace the old fuel filter with a new one, ensuring proper orientation.
  • Reconnect the fuel lines and replace the fuel pump fuse.
